Research Assistant - Tallahassee, FL

December 2017 - March 2020

Government Consultant 1 - Tallahassee, FL

As the Business Intelligence Developer in the Bureau of Workforce Statistics and Economic Research, I utilize various mediums to produce informative, interactive, and attractive content.

As a Tableau Server Administrator, I manage Tableau resources and aid Tableau users with their inquires. I use Tableau Desktop to transform data into dynamic and interactive visualizations for internal clients and public consumption. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, I developed an informative, user-friendly Tableau application using unemployment statistics that garnered over 2 million page views in 2020. In addition, I transform data into mapping applications allowing for spatial analysis using ArcGIS.

Using Sharepoint, I have the opportunity to assist in the establishment of our bureau's first Internal Knowledge Base Wiki.

My knowledge of front-end programming languages enables the construction of quality user experiences through skillful layout and design. Recently, I lead the development of our new website and data delivery application, Florida Insight. During this project, we utilized Scrum, a project management framework that enabled us to conquer the challenges of this large-scale project.

While working with the needs of management and keeping the integrity of the design and brand, I create publications and video presentations using graphic design skills and a suite of Adobe products.

2011 Prudential - Davis Productivity Award

Our team designed the Florida Gulf Recovery Business Locator, an Internet-based Geographic Information Systems application, to help businesses recover from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The application plotted individual businesses by industry title and their number of employees on a map of Gulf coastal states. These states used the tool to assist their businesses with recovery and their workforce with re-employment. In-house provision of infrastructure, software, and access to data needed to create and run the application saved an estimated $85,000.
